I fell at home because the rollator walker seat broke on 4/18/19. An ambulance transported me to Novant Health Rowan Hospital. The ER Doctors, Nurses, Lab Technicians and Xray Technicians gave me excellent care. I was admitted to the Hospital. My complaint is the care from the Hospitalist Doctors. The primary Doctor didn't order any pain medications and the RN had to call for orders. The pain medications was listed on my medications list. He didn't order some of the medications from my medication list. When he made rounds, I needed an interpreter and I speak English. I was showered with his spit at each spoken word. The day of discharge another Doctor visited. I was informed by Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy the previous day. They would recommend home Physical Therapy and Home Health Care. The Physical Therapy was ordered but I had to call my own Primay Physician for the Home Health Orders. The day of discharge the Hospitalist didn't have any decency to ask me how I felt. He acted like I had the plague and wanted to tell me I could go home. I rated the Hospital with four stars because of the Hospitalist MD's. I'm thankful I have a Medical background and worked at this Hospital years ago. I can imagine the care given to patients with non medical backgounds. Novant's decision to hire these Hospitalist Doctors rather than allowing Patients own Primary Physicians continue Inpatient care is a disaster. This is not the first time I've been seen by Novant Hospitalist. To be clear not all of the Hospitalist provides the care I experience this time. The Hospitalist during this admission made it a poor memorable Hospital stay worth a review.
