I had heard The Southern was really good and wanted to try it and take my out of town friends. Service was friendly. However, our water glasses were never refilled in the two hours we were there. I had the gumbo which looked like mud and tasted like mud. I make gumbo and have eaten a lot if it in New Orleans and all over the South. Yuk! My friends had the crab cake plate and hot chicken salad. Both disappointing. It was very noisy, but it was SATURDAY afternoon, so to be expected. I like the location, but I m in no hurry to go back!
