livingroundtheworld Review of Sofitel So Singapore

After a positive experience in Sofitel Sentosa, we were looking forward to our SO pad in the city. It was located within the business district, just minutes walk from 2 train stations and looking into the popular Lau Pa Sat market. This was ideal for meetings with our bankers and associates in Singapore.
The heritage colonial office exterior were starkly juxtaposed with ultra-modern interiors. Shining, glinting and glowing hexagonal design elements stood out in the lobby. Scattered around were the artistic influences of Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld.
Our suite was where fashion art met French colonial interiors. Parisian white paneled walls that stretched upwards created a gallery for brightly colored art and furniture statements. They also masked a generous wardrobe and beverage station.
The chic design elements continued into the over-sized bath and washroom area. We enjoyed having the his and hers vanity counters, a 2-person shower area and a standing tub wide enough for both of us, side by side. The room's design elements also made references to Singapore and it's cultural nuances.
We loved watching the city wake up from our private balcony. It was also ideal for sipping on a glass of wine in the night before retreating to our comfy king-sized bed and pillows.
Service from reception to concierge to restaurant was friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast post the morning executive rush was relaxing and satisfying. We also appreciate the welcome gift of pastries upon checking in and drinks by the open-air gold mosaic pool.
For a stay all SO chic and luxurious, we couldn't have chosen a better city hotel.
