We have been sending our kids to Webber Academy for many years and have had a very positive experience throughout. The teachers are fantastic, the facility is second to none, and the students are great kids for the most part.

There is definitely a strategy of setting a high academic bar for the students and the school atmosphere is competitive which can lead to some stress depending on your child. However, it is amazing what kids can achieve when high expectations are set. The struggle to achieve something worthwhile can be difficult for students, but overcoming adversity is perhaps one of the most important life skills.

As parents our influence on our children diminishes as they grow older, which is why it is so important for kids to have a great peer group. The students at Webber Academy truly encourage each other and have had a positive impact on our children. I have witnessed many examples of this over the years.

I have read some negative posts complaining about racist administration policies. This couldn't be further from the truth and it really boils my blood to read some of these comments. My family comes from a diverse background of different cultures and religion, and our kids are fully accepted into the school environment. Just visit the school for yourself and witness the diversity of the student population and how they blend together and support each other.

The staff constantly preaches the importance of diversity and acceptance of other cultures. I can tell you that this was not the case at all when I was a child attending public schools in Calgary. Webber is leaps and bounds ahead on this front and I suspect they are better than most current schools on this as well.

My only complaint is that ALL public schools should be as good as Webber. We pay a tremendous amount of tax dollars towards public education and the result is far from great. Our research into public schools led us to conclude that many private schools were far superior on many fronts. This shouldn't be the case - the public school system is ripe for disruption.
