Luxury resort built on two sides of a small hill. At the base of one side of the hill is the lobby area, two restaurants, a pool, several bars and the fitness area. Suites and villas are on the slope of the hill. A helipad is at the top. At the base of the other side of the hill is a much larger pool, another restaurant, tennis courts and a large children s play area. Porters in a fleet of golf carts shuttle guests around the property. I was upgraded to a split-level, 2-bedroom, 2-1/2 bathroom villa with LR, DR, K, balcony, outdoor private pool and indoor pool. Extraordinary. Only complaint is that the Master Bathroom, which is quite large, has a cruise ship size shower, plus the typical European tub/shower combination half enclosed by glass. There is plenty of room in the Mbath to replace the small separate shower with a larger one. Customer service is very high throughout the property. Food and wine options at the two a la carte restaurants, Yaosai and Blend, are excellent. Food at Blend was especially good. The buffet restaurant, Tholos, offers a very nice breakfast, but just an average dinner. The resort caters to families, so lots of children, but some of the restaurants feature selected adult-only hours, making it nice for couples as well. One hour drive from Heraklion, so not convenient for visiting Crete s largest city. But excellent choice if looking a gated property offering a quiet, luxury, seaside vacation with a private beach.
