I had a terrible experience giving birth to my first child at Presbyterian. I could write several pages on everything that happened, but I will keep it short. The nurse and hospital staff admitted me after I called due to regular contractions. When my husband and I arrived, they stated they did not have any birthing rooms available for me. I was placed on a rock hard stretcher in a small triage room for over 6 hours. I was denied an epidural due to no available birthing rooms and couldn t even get extra pillows or blankets for comfort and support due to over crowding (per the nursing staff). I was in terrible pain and discomfort for hours and provided little relief. The aftercare was terrible as well. I could not believe the hospital staff admitted me knowing they were over crowded and had no available rooms. I could have gone to another hospital and been provided proper care. The hospital has refused to compensate me in any way and has billed my insurance and myself thousands of dollars. I highly recommend anyone considering giving birth at this hospital to not do it! There are other options and will be well worth it.
