My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the tail end of our honeymoon in Hawai'i. It was an perfect way to end an amazing trip. I only docked one star because it's SO expensive, as expected with Hawai'i (expensive already) plus Disney (always an upcharge). How do I review such a magical experience? We had two buffet meals with characters and two meals at Ama Ama, the restaurant overlooking the beach. It was delicious! The buffets are great for kids, as there are activities for them to parade around the restaurant with the characters. Ama Ama is beautiful and the food was similar to the buffet. The lazy river is scenic, has enough variety, and also is sufficiently lazy. The beach is in a lagoon and is calm and safe. If you stand on the right spot on the rocks and your timing is just right, you can even see dolphins or turtles. There are free boogie boards to rent and you can pay to rent stand up boards to go out on the lagoon. There are also a couple free activities around the resort, as well as activities you can pay extra for. If you're a Disney Vacation Club member, you have even more perks. There are scavenger hunts around the resort and special craft times. They're happy to sell you DVC shares there too if you want to sit through the timeshare presentation. All in all a great resort experience! I would maybe go again in the future with kids but not any time soon.
