I had a reservation at the Hilton in Sandton on 14 and 15 November 2013. I tried to check in before 14:00, but this was not possible due to the non-availability of rooms. When I eventually tried to check-in at 17:00, there were no rooms available, so my check-in was delayed until 18:30 on 14 November 2013. No reason was given at the time. Several guests who had reservations got the same treatment, so my case was not an isolated one. For a supposedly good hotel, this was absolutely shocking. I learnt afterwards that the unavailability of rooms was due to late check-outs by some international airline staff. Sadly, I will not be back and I will not recommend the Hilton at all. There are several other Hotels in Sandton...
