Unsolicited we were confronted with fast check-out...

Unsolicited we were confronted with fast check-out. In the middle of the night an email from Accor, I did not make the link with Mercure. In the attachment the word invoice with breakfast at full rate, which was not booked and not used and would also be at a lower rate. Then half an hour at the reception for a correct invoice. Lots of blah blah about new system. So is it the new system? No, because that wasn't there yet. So it depends on the existing system? Also not. Even more blah blah about the mail attachment, but zero apology for the inconvenience and the elapsed time. By the way, all blabla came from the senior employee, who, in view of the commotion with ditto customers, had taken over from the standard employee, who tried to be helpful. In the end, the story was that I should have been informed when checking in, but that is of no use to me when checking out.
I have never experienced such situations in an accor hotel.
As for the principle of fast check-out: it is very much asking to have me give a blank check and hope that the correct amounts will actually be debited afterwards. Especially with faltering existing / new systems / working methods.
Given the treatment during checkout, I am looking forward to the opening of Van der Valk.
