We stayed at SRR last Spring. During our stay we met Oliver, who was there as a consultant to help the property to improve operations. When we left we hoped that his work would help as there were opportunities for improvement.
Last Friday we called to make a reservation. Luis at the front desk said that he would have reservations call us back. By mid-day Monday we had heard nothing so decided to call. At that point the nightly rates had increased by 20%, over $1000 per night for the basic double mesa view room. We asked if they would honor the rate which we called about on Friday. We figured they would gladly welcome us back as return quests. No, that was not the case. We were told that was not possible in a very smug and arrogant way. So I replied, sorry that we will not be able to make Sorrel River Ranch a regular escape for our family. Now after reading about a $200/night resort fee we surely won't be back.
If the only advice you all learned form hiring a "best in the industry" consultant was to jack up your rates, charge a resort fee, act as arrogant as you can towards gusts, then you need to start over. Unfortunately, the reservation person said she would ask her general manager to contact me and that never happened and there is no info for these people on your website. So, this is the best way to give you feedback. Hopefully it puts some pressure on you to step up as recent reviews are terrible. You are now just a 3 star experience in our book.
