I had a wonderful time last night at the Junior Achievement offices in Detroit, Michigan. I was there for a meeting of the Detroit Public Television Community Advisory Panel.

Before the meeting started we heard a rousing speech from the director of the Junior Achievement location in Southeast Michigan. The room is filled with office space and business spaces that have been built out by major corporations in the area. Each one is set up, so that, the participants may be able to carry out the duties they will be assigned for their projects.

The projects range from class study to lectures to short and long term work in relation to starting a business and setting a budget. Some of the projects include going for financing, then manufacturing and finally issuing stock or offering partnerships.

The activities are detailed in their application. Check them out!

The building itself is warm and cozy even in the deepest of winter days. The displays are brightly colored and well cared for.
