Ced Mutebi Review of Detroit Fashion Pages & E-Comm...

This is one of the few reviews I have written but I have felt compelled by my experience at this store to put one down. The store is beautiful - it is very rustic and modern at the same time. But the issue I have is with the service. I went there for my first time 2 months ago and was received with in a very nonchalant manner, but that did not really bother me - as long as I got my pants tailored well and in a timely manner I would be happy. I tell him what I want done and he estimates 3 weeks, possibly sooner, and that I would get a call when I should come in. That was long for my liking, but as long as it was good, I was not pressed about 3 weeks. But I asked him, at the most 3 weeks? And he said yes. 4 weeks later I have not received a call. 5 weeks, I decide to walk in and just pick them up because I needed to wear them for an event. I ask the worker if my pants were ready and he tells me that the tailor just started them 2 days ago, but hadn't finished them. Mind you, I just wanted the legs tapered an inch and a half. So the worker takes my pants to the back for the tailor to finish it and I wait 15 minuted or so until they are ready. He brings out my pants and apologizes and then takes $8 off of the total for my time waiting. At this point I just wanted my pants and get to a lunch meeting that I had. I appreciate the fact that he took some money off, but the timeliness of this store is not good if you need a product done. You can pay extra for a rush order, but if you just want something altered without a direct timeline, I would suggest going somewhere else. They take on a lot of alteration projects, visible from the back of the store, and I don't know if they push regulars to the front or if that's just the way their system works, but it should not take that long. The store is nice, but the timeliness and service need improvement.
