I always have a good experience at Honda. The people there are skilled, helpful and personable. The only critique I have is for Honda's survey/rating system. It is very obvious that Honda employees need 5-star ratings to stay employed. This pressure on them often creates unnatural dynamics during the employee-customer exchange. I would guess that most 5-star ratings are given because the employee not only directly asks for it, but suggests that anything less than 5 will yield some type of disciplinary action. This is unfair for the customer and for the employees. It creates a hostile environment where open exchange is actually discouraged because of the possibility that it may land someone in hot water. If I think someone gave me 4-star and not 5-star service, I shouldn't have to worry about ruining someone's job security. The ratings are artificially inflated by the prevalent sentiment that at Honda, only 5-stars is acceptable.
