RIT was a great school for Software Engineering when I went (2003-2008), and I've worked with several more recent students (as co-ops) that suggest it continues to do a good job.
However, everybody I've talked to says the transition from quarters to semesters significantly reduced the effectiveness of the school for SE, CS, IT, and other engineering disciplines. The quarter system certainly seems to have been one of the big things that made it such a great engineering college, and moving to semesters seems like it brings it down closer to the quality of most other technical colleges.
