Very unpleasant experience. I would not even give a star and definitely will never travel via this airport again. Airport staff clearly do not know how to handle checked-in luggage for connecting flights as it ends up on the baggage carousel even though it has been checked in all the way through to the final destination and should be delivered directly to the connecting flight, leaving you wondering should you take the suitcase and re-check it in for the connecting flight or the staff will be sensible enough to transfer your luggage themselves. As it turns out it can be a difficult task. They managed to transfer the luggage to my flight home before Christmas but on the return flight they did not, even though I used the same airlines and luggage was checked in to the final destination. I have been waiting for my suitcase to arrive for more than two days now. Tegel blames the airlines but both airlines clearly agree that in this case it is airport's fault and incompetence of Tegel's staff. Airport has no transfer zone, which means that for connecting flights one has to go through security checks twice. Security checks take ages as there are only one to two checkpoints for two gates. Staff is unpleasant, unkind, incompetent and barely (if at all) speaks English. No one knows anything and everything is too difficult for them to comprehend. Berlin is a major metropolitan city and airport like Tegel representing such city looks more like an out of date joke than anything else.

P.s. Suitcase arrived just now and it is damaged. Was delivered to me not directly from TLX but via AMS. Never will I ever travel via TLX again!
