The entire stay was sub-par. The poor performance started at check-in, never ended.
I called to see if I could get early check-in. The person on the phone was rude and told me the request had to be made in person and not over the phone. When I got there the room wasn't ready and there was a line to leave your luggage with the bell hop. When the room was finally ready there was another line in the lobby to get onto the elevator. This was not a one off. The elevator lines in the lobby and wait times were consistent the entire trip. On average it would take 20-30 minutes to get an elevator from upstairs, and in the lobby even longer when lines formed. It was the topic of conversation of every guest in the hotel. The guests on lower levels quickly learned that if they hit the down button in order to go down the elevator would be full by the time it got to them. So they started hitting the up button and go for the ride so they could at least fit on. That of course meant on the upper floors when the elevator finally arrived it was always full from people riding it up in order to go down.
I ordered 2 Alfred Children's Concierge packages for my kids. Those of course never arrived. When I checked out the valet took over an hour to get my car. They warned at check-in it could take up to 45 minutes (which is ridiculous by itself) but of course not even that target could be reached.
The location is great for going to a show, but I would stay elsewhere even if it means a short walk.
