w chia Review of Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok

Much better than the Courtyards in the United States. The staff here is exceptional. Every one that I encountered were friendly and helpful. From check-in, the security, concierge, others staffing the front entrance, the cleaning lady, MoMo Cafe staff, the executive lounge personnel, and finally my late check out at 2pm, I've not encountered such a well-trained and helpful team. I booked two nights on points. It was the lowest in Bangkok for the Marriott chains at just 12500 points per night. I only have the gold elite status. But drew the lucky card for access to the executive lounge. Located right on the Ratchaprasong shopping district, with a sky walk linking a bunch of large malls together. On Google maps you might think that it was a long walk to get into the hotel from the main road. It is safe though. Every building along that walk to Courtyard has its own security point and guards. It is well lit and I did not feel uneasy walking in from the main road. There's a balcony at the executive lounge on the top floor to get a night view of the surrounding tall buildings. For those not taking the taxi in from BKK, you get here by the Bangkok MRT Airport Link to its end point, switch to BTS and get off at Chit Lom station. Don't try cutting through the Renaissance hotel as it doesn't have a back door that lets you go directly to Courtyard. Cut through the malls through Grand Hyatt emerging close to the side street that leads to courtyard. The Courtyard staff made the stay memorable.
