I was contacted by Ideal over a small amount to be collected from an old apartment (under $100). I made the payment directly to their bank account at Wells Fargo within a few days of receiving the notice. EIGHT MONTHS later it pops up as a collections account on my credit report and drops my score by over 10 points! When I called in, they admitted the mistake and had record of the payment all along. The person I spoke with was helpful but it seems the company overall is very disorganized. I'm now waiting to see if the correction actually shows up and restores my credit to a good standing.
