I've had a terrible experience traveling with Eurostar and I DO NOT recommend anyone travel with this company. While on a recent trip to the UK, I booked a day trip from London to Paris. The journey that should have taken 2.5 hrs. ended up taking nearly 5 hrs. because of disorganization and delays. Not only this, but on the return journey back to London, Eurostar broke two of my recently purchased items on their shoddily set up security check point. My bag was on their conveyer belt and fell through a HUGE gap in the line. Not only were my brand new products shattered, all the other items in my bag were damaged. I immediately approached the Eurostar customer care desk in the terminal and was told to contact their online support for compensation of my destroyed property. After 10 days of back and fourth, Eurostar is refusing to compensate for any of the damages saying that the hand carry items were my responsibility. This would be reasonable if I had the bag in my possession when it was damaged, but my personal property was in the care of their security checkpoint when it was carelessly dropped and damaged. All I'm asking is that they reimburse me for the broken items, totaling 58 pounds, not even asking for compensation on my other items that were also damaged from the fall. They are refusing to make amends in any way. This is not only disappointing, but an unethical business practice. Save yourself (and your personal belongings) the trouble and travel with a company that actually cares about their passengers.
