One thing in advance: This is certainly NOT 5 ***** - hotel. If at all a maximum of 4 stars due to the pool and the beautiful park-like grounds. To the detail:
ARRIVAL: We stood in front of the gate and did not know because of the little information, that one must press a certain key combination, so that one is connected to the reception. We have called externally, but we did not open the gate immediately, but only revealed the key combination. After that, we were again connected to the reception. The tone was not really friendly. We did not know that we could drive up to the hotel (we were not informed either), which is why we parked at the park for safety reasons. By contrast, the young man who brought the luggage was extremely friendly and helpful.
RECEPTION: An employee with reddish hair stood out, unfortunately, by his snippy and not service-oriented nature. If you asked him, nothing was possible. If you asked the other front desk staff (especially the other gentleman, tall and with blond hair was very friendly), everything was made possible. We also learned about our dinner reservation: We wanted to push our reservation from 7pm to 8pm. The red-handed receptionist told us that this was impossible (we thought he was kidding). When he called the restaurant, he asked only the following question in French: "Here are guests who want to make reservations at 7pm but want to come at 8pm." Can the guests also arrive at 7:30 pm? " - he did not even ask for the time at 8pm. The reason of the gentleman: That is not possible for the restaurant otherwise, since all come at the same time. In the evening we were with another table the first (!) In the dining room. Other guests came at 8pm or even 8:20 pm. We found that impossible. As I said the other staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful - but it was a pity, that one got a very negative impression by the one gentleman.
ROOMS: Clean, but despite the renovation, there are still old sanitary facilities (especially washbasin & bath). The front door jammed in such a way that it made such a loud, bang-like sound, that the neighbors had to hear this every time. In addition, shower gel and shower gel are simply of the lowest quality and not appropriate: gel-like and unpleasant smelling - something we have received so far in a three star hotel. The staff for the room cleaning, however, extremely courteous, warm and helpful. For the room delivery service we could not find a phone number until the end (and they could not tell us). That was a bit strange.
RESTAURANT: Excellent food with wonderful wines. The older man (probably Somelier), a 33-year-old, rather large waiter and the younger, Asian waiters were all very accommodating, tried hard for an efficient and smooth service. The other service staff, however, had the impression that they still do not know how to operate. The breakfast and the brunch were wonderful - fresh ingredients with fruit, cheese, meat, crepes etc .. At breakfast, however, we were also a bit puzzled, that you have to get the coffee yourself (usually the hot drinks at a 4-5 Star hotel served).
