Robert Lorentz Review of Alaska Sales and Service

I went to the service department today to see if I could get my truck hooked up to one of the portable computers to see if my alternator was causing my battery to die due to lack of charging. Well, I could have taken my truck to one of the local parts stores to do this but since I did buy my truck from Alaska Sales I thought I should see if there was anything else that might need to be taken care of if a code came up. I was asked three times if I had been helped by three different people in the 20 min that I was standing there. Each one of them asked " have you been helped yet?" In which I said no each time and then they followed up with " well someone will be with you shortly After 20 additional minutes I stopped one of the service folks and asked if there was someone who could just run a quick check on the truck. I was met with the response " sir, do you have an appointment?" I realized at that moment that this wasn't going to be the day I get to have the truck checked out. I was told that it could be 2-3 days before they could schedule me to have the portable computer check my truck. I looked around with one truck in the oil change line and no other vehicles around and said I was just going to go to NAPA to get the free service that takes 2 min to do.
It s a shame that you pay so much for these trucks and the parts stores are more incline to get you taken care of than the Dealer. I have had good experiences at this location, but they fell flat on their faces today. Really too bad.
