My grandmother was admitted with an infection. Because she had 2 tias 5 years ago, she is partially paralyzed and can no longer speak. After the first 2 days in the acute admission department, where everything was well organized, she was transferred to a normal department. On the acute admission they took time for her, quietly helping her eat for an hour until she had finished her plate. In contrast to the normal department where she is now, it is said that she does not eat well, because they do not have time to feed her as they say. My grandmother is very sensitive to stimuli, they leave the room of the door open and then start shouting from one side of the hall to the other. Grandma used to live in a nursing home before but was transferred to the hospital because of the infection because they could provide better care here. Not helping people with food by saying we don't have time because there are only 2 people in the whole department, I find it utterly outrageous! A hospital should provide the care that people need, if this means that they have to be fed, they should do the same.
