Shakespeare's Globe Theater in London is exact rep...

Shakespeare's Globe Theater in London is exact replica (other than the straw roof) of the original theater that burned down. Even though it's newly built, the look and feel of the theater is amazing and contributes to epic feel of seeing a play here. This was on my bucket list.
I purchased tickets in advance for this year's visit to London - I saw Henry VI. Last time I was in London I couldn't get tickets because they sell out so quickly. Overall, tickets are affordable, starting with lowest priced 5 pound standing tickets to seating tickets ranging from 20 -100 pounds. I had 2nd floor balcony tickets.
Cushions are available for rent at 1 pound each and trust me - you will need/want those. Being the exact replica of the old theater, the seats are really just a long wooden bench; quite uncomfortable. The show is 3 hours long.
Drinks and snacks are available for purchase and can be brought up with you to the theater.
Overall, the show is outstanding and even though they don't only show Shakespeare plays, go see one and you won't regret it. The actors are superb, the production very simple (so nowhere to hide), and some plays are interactive (like that girl in the audience that got a full blown french kiss by one of the actors during the show I saw).
The theater is located in Bankside area of London, which is quite beautiful. It's close to London's Borough Market, which is a great place to sample really great food.
The Swan restaurant, which is adjacent to the theater also offers food, but can get very packed.
Tours of the theater are also available (went on one couple of years ago) and are great way to learn more about history of the theater and Shakespeare.
