Called for my medical records today. Very pleased that a person answered the phone right away, no machine. Call transferred and a very helpful lady in records dept has my records on the way. No fuss, no cost and very polite friendly and efficient. I should add that in 1991 I had my Dr refer me to Mayo for a problem his office could not diagnose for about 4 years despite every test possible. He referred me to the WRONG dept at Mayo (Rheumatology) but the Dr I saw came up with a diagnosis in about 20 minutes. She also sent me over to Endocrinology where I should have gone. After a week of tests her diagnosis was confirmed, and this was not a condition most Doctors will ever see. My own PCP never would have figured it out. I admit I was skeptical at first because I had to trot all over the building in a johnny for a lot of testing and it seemed so impersonal. But it was efficient and everyone was courteous and professional . Best of all they got this extremely rare diagnosis correct the first time, prescribed some simple medications that reversed the progression of this condition. I literally began to feel much better in 2 days while driving back home. Within a few months I was 100% back to normal. This condition can be fatal if not treated, so they saved my life. Yeah, it was expensive, but I'm alive and healthy. I suggest you DO NOT go here for run of the mill medical care, Don't go without a referral and expect to be seen within minutes if you do. And don't expect you will get the best care in the world on the cheap. And check your attitude at the door.
