Rare is the occasion that I feel compelled to review an item we have purchased. I do so now because I regret not reading the other reviews here before purchasing a $2,000+ Double Reclining Leather Sofa manufactured by Southern Motion. Within 2 weeks of receipt of our beautiful new sofa, we noted that the foam inserts within the chaise portion of both reclining sections had begun to shift. The store, where we purchased the couch, sent a local furniture repair service to take a look at it. They were able to pull the foam back up and glue them down. However, a week later, the same issue. The furniture repairman contacted Southern Motion to order replacement inserts. The replacement inserts also quickly slid. Again, the furniture repairman contacted Southern Motion. This time he was told that basically they had fixed the couch once. It was not a manufacturing problem. It was a customer problem. We, apparently, were not sitting up properly or standing properly. Now please understand that my wife and I are both in our upper 60s. How could we possibly abuse a quality piece of furniture?! So much for a 5 year warranty on fabric and cushions. Now, after only 3 months, we have a sofa that looks like the picture below. In retrospect, we should have gone with the $499 couch from Rural King.
