Are you thinking of replacing your windows with hurricane impact windows? Please do NOT even think of using Storm Tight Windows! I did, and it was a VERY BIG mistake. I chose them over two other window companies because they were the manufacturer of the windows; they promised to stay in touch with me during the whole manufacturing process; they matched the price that another window company that I had used in the past offered me. I barely heard from them over the twelve weeks of manufacturing, and they were terrible at returning calls when messages were left. The crew that came to do the installation was inexperienced, and the supervisor did not stay on-site for the full installation. I only had FIVE windows replaced, and it took THREE very long days. My house is only one level with very accessible windows. The installation was horrible. The windows were not straight; the exposed flanges were broken; the calking looked like a 5-year-old was finger painting both inside and out; there was broken glass on the ground outside of one of the windows. I called Ygrene, the finance company I used for the windows, and told them to hold payment until I was completely satisfied with the installation of the windows. That same day, I received a call from the owner of the company who was very belligerent and threatened to cancel my financing , put a lien on my house , and demand a check when his crew arrived the next day . The inspector of their own company saw the work that was done, took pictures, and stated that it would not pass inspection and understood why I would not release the funds. Not one window looked professionally installed. Thanks to his report, the installation crew and the supervisor came back to the house and fixed all the windows to a point that I could live with them. When they finished, and I checked every window together with the crew, who fixed every minor issue during the walk-through, I released payment. I never heard from the owner of the company again, not even an apology or a thank you. I am writing this with the hope of preventing anyone else from having to go through the same awful experience.
