The building itself is wonderful and being there at midnight to see A Midsummer Night's Dream was really special, or so I'd hoped; but unfortunately the production itself was diabolical. Despite having driven from Birmingham and paid for the best seats in the house we struggled to suffer it until the interval when we were so glad to leave. It was such a shame because when I booked the tickets I did ask if it was going to be a traditional production.... so the references to Love Island and Britain's Got Talent in the script together with 'costumes' of gym wear & Nike trainers were not what I was expecting, in fact they were the very vacuous things I do my best to avoid.
