I was pretty disappointed in this hotel. I understand that parts of the world are still in full-on pandemic crisis mode, but the reality is that a lot of places have begun a return to some semblance of normal. Not the Virginia Crossings Hotel. Upon arrival, I learned that none of their restaurants were open to serve any food....be it carry-out, dine-in, or room service. What kind of full-service hotel is like that? No way to secure a dinner at the place where you're staying? Given the mark-ups that hotels put on their food service, it only makes sense for this to be one of the first things to return, as things begin to re-normalize. Not here. Hilton Honors Gold member comped breakfast was even worse. All they offered was a bunch of pre-packaged, cardboard-tasting muffins and croissants. Want to make a piece of toast? Forget it. It was hard enough to get a hot cup of water to make tea. On top of the food nonsense, the room that I was assigned couldn't access television channels on the tv in my room. I started to wonder if the pillows would be safe. The next time that I'm in the Richmond area, I'm pretty sure I'll be looking to see what the Marriott properties offer.
