Review of Beverton Honda

My buying experience was excellent at Beaverton Honda. (5 stars) Of course it should have been since we paid cash, for a new Accord, but they did give us an excellent trade in amount for our used car. After the sale however, it's been very disappointing in terms of service. This dealership is set up to serve themselves and not the customer. (0 Stars)

First, we needed to have a few accessories installed since we purchased our car on a Saturday evening. Things like trunk net for packages etc and door trim; nothing which is overly complicated or time consuming. I called to make an appointment (first mistake-they make everyone listen to their commercials for 5 minutes before they pick up the phone) Then they told me that they want the car for 4-6 hours to perform the work. They insisted so I had to drive about 12 miles and get a loaner from them. Total time wasted out of my day = 2.5 hours.

Three months later I noticed some scuff marks on the black inside door panels so I called and asked for the parts department to get a recommendation on what to use figuring that they would be the experts and could tell me. After spending 5 minutes on the phone with the parts department trying to convince the person I reached that "somebody" in their dealership must have at least one suggestion on what to use....like maybe someone in the detail department?? Still, the less than helpful person refused to call anyone to get further suggestions. So, I drove to the dealership and walked onto the sale floor and asked for the sales manager and told him how un helpful his support staff was. He apologized and referred me to a couple of product that could be found at any auto parts store. I thanked him and left.

Then last weekend I was stuck in traffic for about 30 minutes in downtown Portland and the car began sputtering whereby I put it in neutral and revved the engine to keep it gong. Soon I got on then off the freeway and stopped at a light whereby the car promptly stalled and quit. I put it park, started the engine again, and quickly put it into drive and sped on. Obviously there was something going on with the car in the electronics somewhere. The next day I called to see if I could bring it over and have it hooked up to the computer to see what the problem was. Bet you can't guess how they responded? They want me to leave the car for 4-6 hours for tests, because "it's not that easy to diagnose" they say. To the service department, "everyone was born yesterday!" They think we're stupid! We know their computers weren't running on MS DOS. Everything with Beaverton Honda is for their convenience and not the customers. To make a customer wait for 4-6 hours for something that takes just a few minutes is ridiculous, and once again will take 2+ hours or more of my time after they again give me a loaner. A long time ago a person could make an appointment for something as predictable as this.

I see a pattern here and I really don't like it. I only wished that I had done my homework on their service department before I had purchased the car. If you happen to see a 2016 Black Honda V6 Accord with great looking wheels in a Toyota used car lot here soon, you'll know what the straw was that broke the camels back.
