A good Irish styled pub that attracts a good crowd, a friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff, food good pub grub. There was one time I stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon and it was v quiet in late summer. I chose to sit outside (despite it being a busyish road) as it s quite dark inside. There are two tables and one booth type table in the area I sat. When I went to the area there was a woman sitting in the booth table, the most comfortable of the seats. It appeared to me she was a staffer as she was drinking coke out of a plastic drink bottle. Shortly after a Scandinavian couple arrived and took the last table but from their comments they were also wondering why an employee was chilling in an area for paying customers. The owners should make sure staff have their own comfortable area where they can take their break. Hospitality standards in New Zealand can be ropey at times but there s an easy fix for this that is a win win for everyone.
