If I could write 2 reviews, one for breakfast service and a different one for lunch service, I would. We were staying at the Marriott where the restaurant is located. Breakfast was fantastic; very easy for hotel quests, extremely friendly staff. Then there's lunch time when suddenly this restaurant seems to take on the Gordon Ramsay name and acts like it's a totally different place. We entered the restaurant for lunch through the hotel entrance (which we had done for breakfast several times before) and were quickly (and not so discreetly) whisked through the restaurant to the front street entrance. There we were asked if we had a reservation (when clearly there were lots of open tables). When we said no we were taken back into the restaurant and seated. The waiter was one of the rudest snobs I have ever encountered. We sat next to a table of Japanese Americans and when they were seated the staff rolled their eyes at each other when they didn't sit down quick enough. We were offered still or sparkling water (which has a charge) and not tap water. Tap water was offered to the next table though. The food was good and creative and a lovely presentation. We were clearly ignored through our stay there and had to flag down the waiter for the check. (with no pen was provided) We were quite surprised to see a COVER CHARGE on the check. When I asked the waiter about the fee he said it was because this was a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. (sniff sniff) The fee was not included on our breakfast bill and they made sure to tell us that the breakfast operation is much different than the lunch and dinner operation. I don't give a rat's behind who Gordon Ramsay is and will never pay to just sit in some fool's restaurant. The waiter did offer to remove the charge and I accepted his offer.
