Finally got to do a staycation at Aulani for our 12th wedding anniversary (we have been together for 19 years total). And though it was during the refurbishment it was well worth it. Plus the magically pixie dust they sprinkled on us when they heard it was our anniversary made for a great experience. I can't wait to go back again.
[VALUE] Since not all of the pools were available we received a $50 per night credit. Plus we did the kamaaina weekday special so we saved a lot more.
[ACTIVITIES] We had a blast making our own MOUSE EARS ($25 per person) and stamping T-SHIRTS ($15). The mouse ears were little bit challenging using a glue gun. I would definitely recommended doing the shirts. Plus if you are a DVC member or have a Disney credit card you receive a discount.
[PIN TRADING] There are A LOT more places to trade with pin boards at several of the stores and at DVC preview room, plus binders in the pau hana room and in the DVC area next to the front desk. Most of the DVC stands throughout Aulani have cast members with lanyards and several other hospitality cast members are wearing pouches. MY ONE WISH IS TO SEE THEM BRING BACK AN ORGANIZED PIN TRADING AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK OR MONTH.
