2019 Honda Odessey EX-L, new purchase without a trade-in:
This Odessey is our fifth Honda. We currently also have a 1997 CRV (first model year) with 280,000 miles.
My experience was way better than prior new car experiences.
Honda's sales approach is similar to their product. It is important to understand the Honda philosophy of car sales. We drove all similar vehicles of other brands first. Quality, simplicity, and not a bunch of fluff goes along with the process. Our sales representatives Saloni, Tony, and Greg knew the model inside and out. They were professional and friendly. Other competing brand sales staff frequently apologized for not knowing answers to technical details about their product. We received a complete review of our car's features and operation. It was ready on time and clean. We bought the car at a fair price based on KBB and Edmunds. We could not beat the Honda price versus a fair price of competing brands that did not equal the quality, but were comparable in features. The final price remained the final price. That is a first in 45 years of purchasing a new car. The facility is clean and inviting. The car sells itself. Service bays were also clean and uncluttered. Honda is the Swiss Army knife of vehicles.
We realize everyone has a unique experience.
My advice is to do the research prior to shopping for a new vehicle.
