We are so happy that Omni is taking on the old, classic hotels and resorts like the Homestead. It is truly a national treasure that needs to be saved for generations to come. However, it requires serious and expensive up keep. Omni is doing well and has made the resort a wonderful family vacation spot, but the hotel is still showing signs of it's age, such as inadequate AC in the rooms, certainly our room had a very old (1970's???) AC unit that could not cool the room. And the carpeting throughout the hotel was in much need of replacing. But, the activities were 5 star as were the restaurants. And the staff was world class!
