Bad customer service, unprofessional staff...the female at the check in counter threw a fit when I refused to pay a ridiculous $100.00 fee for a carry on luggage that I voluntarily agreed to have it checked in, since she told me in the rudest possible way that my luggage is two kg over the allowed limit. My first and only check in luggage was three kg under the allowed limit, therefore I was expecting for some more understanding. When I politely asked to talk to her supervisor, her face turned red, she got really angry and she began to pull her hair. I repeatedly told her on a calm tone that I will not pay the fee.In the end, she ripped the bill in front of me and ORDERED me to take my bag and leave. I have encountered the same impoliteness from various staff members throughout the airport from the security to the store clerks.
Who knows? Maybe they all had a bad morning...
Otherwise, the airport is clean, modern and has a decent selection of stores and restaurants.
Anyway, in the future, I will avoid passing through the Budapest airport.
