i bought five D205S five gallon yellow diesel containers with black spouts. I've had them many years, and the containers themselves are very durable. The spout has a spring-loaded flange that, when unlocked and pushed back. releases the fuel. The operational procedure is similar to the one shown in the video for the Easy Flow Spout. The spring tension is just right. When I draw the container and spout away from the filler opening, the valve in the spout shuts off instantly. The flow also stops when the tank is full--if the spout is in a vertical position. I have managed to break 4 of the 5 spouts, leaving those containers orphaned, so to speak. I hoped to get replacement spouts, but they don't appear to be available any more. One problem with this older spout is that its extension beyond the flange is not long enough. This feature has caused some spillage from time to time--but it also has functionality for filling one Hatz diesel engine tank. I also have two AB762 two-gallon gasoline containers with Easy Flow Spouts. These are as durable as the D205S product. The spouts work exactly as shown in the video. On one machine with an 8 gallon tank, I can rest the container against the filler neck and against other parts of the machine while it empties itself. When the container has completely drained, the spring, not having the weight of the full container on it to hold it open any more, automatically pushed the valve closed. I do not use them to fill chain saws or other small machines that do not have a lip. The filler openings and the tanks are too small for the spout to work. I could manage to make them work for that purpose, if I needed to. I would have to hold the spout hook with one hand and hold the container with the other. The best thing I discovered today is that the Easy Flow Spout has the same thread as the D205S containers, and they fit perfectly. So I will be ordering more Easy Flow Spouts so I can put my D205S containers back into service. The coarse threads on all these products are large and robust, making it almost impossible to cross-thread the spouts on to the containers There is a big aevantage to having continuity of design, backwards compatibilty, and interchangeabiltiy of parts. If I need more fuel containers in the future, I will be looking for Scepter products.
