Arrived at 14:30 for a theoretical availability at 14h, the room was not ready.
Strangely, we are told that the original room has been given to other guests. We are asked to go for a walk in the meantime, what we do. 20 minutes later, we can enter the room, which seems very good at first sight. We spend the afternoon outside, and when we come back in the evening after dinner, we discover a big cockroach on the headboard: - /
We will immediately see the reception to request a room change. The receptionist asks us to spend the night in this room, and offers us to rediscuss the next day, because it was no longer no room available. He adds that it is not unusual to encounter a cockroach from time to time in Cyprus. We refuse of course threatening to leave the hotel definitively because it is out of the question to spend the night in a room where we found a cockroach.
He then gives us a one-time change, for one night (like that there was at least one room available).
But on our return to the room to get our luggage, it is not one but more than a dozen cockroaches who wander in the room, entering and leaving simply by a space between the floor and the door. We are horrified, we who are very afraid to take these animals in our luggage and find them at home, once back in our apartment.
We go to bed 2 hours later, exhausted by this journey (moving luggage at midnight).
The next morning we are awakened by the reception who wishes to recover the room as soon as possible. Rebelote, we pack our bags to change rooms as expected.
After meeting the management of the hotel who wanted to see us in person, we land in a very average room, worthy of a 2 *, not 4 *. This under-ranking deeply disappointed us, especially after the night we had spent. Only positive point: the management offers us breakfast for the remaining days, to apologize for the inconvenience, and a dinner in their canteen. The breakfast was good, the banal dinner.
Overall, the service was not professional at all. We had to ask 5 times (!!!) for our room to be made the 2nd day. We got upset about the receptionist, noting their total lack of consideration.
We are not difficult customers usually, we have traveled to many countries and in different categories of hotels. But this is the first time we have regretted our choice of hotel, which however seemed very good at first sight compared to other comments.
In summary, those who put the price may find this hotel very well, in a suite or a nice room, far from cockroaches. For others, go your way ..
