I have had a number of experiences with Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center. Most of which are were very good. I have had a couple of interactions that I thought could have gone better. I spoke with the patient advocacy office and they pointed me to the person I could speak with directly about my concern. After I spoke with the director of the area, he told me that there are a number of processes at the hospital that are being re-evaluated. He said they had a number of green-belts and black-belts providing guidance to help achieve predictable appointment waits and increase overall efficiency. As I told him, I don't mind people making mistakes or not being as efficient as they could be, but the key is striving towards better processes through improvement. And they are doing just that. They are taking those actionable steps towards better hospital-patient relations in all areas.
