We read that the Anne Frank Museum was too Touristy , not so.
We found it to be very moving. I read the Anne Frank book as a teenager and remembered a lot of her story. To actually be in the spaces The Frank s and 4 others had to hide out within, to walk the creaky floors, to climb the STEEP stairs, all in the same silence they lived in for 2 years with all kinds of nationalities almost .... made us one. We all understood although eyes rarely met, and heads were down. We were all reverent as to what we were experiencing together, a life one would hope, especially for our children s sake we may never endure.
Anne s actual journal and other artifacts were present in the museum. I did not know Mr. Frank and others survived to honor the lives of loved ones they lost. I understand, far better the desperate measures some will take and endure to have freedom. May we never forget or take for granted the good lives and freedom we are blessed with.
