This review is long overdue. They're great for non-union but a rip off for Union. Only expect to get 1 job a week if even that. All the calling services are super shady when it comes to Union work. There were some Union people with Extras that worked every day, I later found out that those people were friends of casting and that's why they were getting all the union work.

I ended up moving to New York and stayed away from extra work cause I thought there was no way I would make enough money to survive doing it. When I finally did give it a try, to my surprise I was booking work literally EVERY DAY on my own just through casting networks. And that's as union. It turns out that even though New York doesn't have as much work as L.A., people still work more cause there's NO calling services. Which means that everyone gets a fair chance of getting work, instead of just the friends of casting. Not only was I getting lots of extra work, but I was also getting a lot of stand-in work too. When I was in L.A., I never got any stand in work, not even saw a single post for stand in work. Which is pretty crazy when you consider the large amount of work that's filmed there. And it's because places like Extras are only giving them to a select few.

Well now with Covid there's a lot of New York shows that are going to Canada or choosing to shoot in L.A. because there's more space. And since I'm from L.A. I've been dying to come back home. I heard a while back that L.A. was suppose to be getting rid of calling services cause everyone knows how cliquey they are. So I was hoping they were gone and everyone was now being given a fair chance to get work. I'm sad to see they're still here.
