Joe Diver Review of Boardwalk Auto Mall

I always dread new car shopping. And after having the usual pushy salesman experience at a competitor Jeep dealership where every question I asked was answered with 3 more questions, I left depressed and almost gave up but decided to try Boardwalk. At the competing dealer as soon as they determined that I might not be buying today, I was practically shown the door. I had done my homework, owned 3 Jeeps previously. and just wanted a walk around and test drive. No offer to get a key to look inside one. "We only allow test drives for people who are ready to buy." Wow, unbelievable. How do these people ever sell a car? I wondered. So I rock up to Boardwalks new Jeep showroom in Redwood City, and turns out they have the exact vehicle I was looking for. Limited EcoDiesel in Black with 20" rims, exactly the vehicle I have been looking for. Lovely saleslady Mackelle approaches and I express my interest in this Jeep. I prepare myself for the onslaught of questions. Instead..."Sure, let me get the key. Would you like to take it for a test drive?" Holy crap? Really? Wow? Then I saw the sticker price. Waaayy more than I was planning. This limited had a bunch of extras. It was loaded like a Summit. I was so dejected. And it was the same price I saw online using the "Build and Price" feature with those options so I know there is no trickery going on here. But wait! Its a 2015 and there are rebates and discounts to apply!" Says Mackelle. "Let's talk to my manager Gary." Ok, so I keep hope alive. Gary proceeds to work some magic. I don't even want to say what the final numbers were. I don't want to get Gary in trouble! But they ended up getting the price down under my cap. Basically I ended up with all the options for free. Great! Lets do it! Next is financing...Tricky again as I have two cars and a motorcycle I am also financing, but one of the cars I am selling. Without going into too much detail, Gary did back flips to make this work and I drove away with a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited EcoDeisel Black with 20" wheels and a huge smile! Her name is Charley. (Thanks Mackelle for help with the name).
It's rare to find a salesperson with the kind of skills it takes to bring a frustrated customer like me back from the dejection I left the other dealership with, but Mackelle was able to do so and do so expertly. And if she didn't know the answer, she was willing to go find it. It was so refreshing to work with her. No pushiness and no bullshit whatsoever. Thanks Broadway and thanks Mackell!!
