I've been treated like an animal here, dishonored human and it almost cost my baby's life.
I had a medical indication for a hospital delivery due to a previous caesarean section in which the scar would have to be closely monitored and a liter of blood loss that almost put me in a coma.
On 9-9-2020 I came by appointment with contractions at the delivery rooms, when they were already in doubt which room they could accommodate me.
I asked for pain medication in the early afternoon and was promised again and again that someone would come back to discuss it with me. This did not happen.
At the end of the afternoon I found myself in a contraction storm, I clung to everything I encountered, had to vomit in pain and stood on my haunches naked, crying in my own amniotic fluid, begging for help. The nurse who entered stood in front of me and smiled down at me.
Again I begged her for help, saying that my body couldn't take it anymore and that if the window was open I would jump out. She started to laugh and said she wouldn't stop me.
She walked away.
My mother went after her to find help, my doula encouraged me.
I felt that something had to be removed.
A midwife came and said that I had no contractions and that I should just puff it away, the gynecologist in training promised to come back for pain medication ... she never came back. I never saw her again.
I almost went into shock when a midwife and nurse came in to tell me that I could get pain medication in 1.5 hours at the earliest, there was no room on the anesthesia.
Again I begged for help and almost passed out, when they said to check the opening anyway.
Pain medication was no longer going to be possible, they said, 10 cm dilation and the baby had to come out now. She had pooped in the amniotic fluid in a panic and had only 40 beats per minute. She took a pair of scissors and cut me completely open. Unfortunately my mother saw this and started to cry.
They said they have to get out with 1 press and otherwise we will come with the vacuum pump.
With everything in me, to save my child, I got her out with 1 contraction. She literally flew through the air and they just managed to catch her.
Thank God my baby recovered immediately.
After all this I was told that there was nowhere a room and bed for me and my baby free, everything was taken.
Eventually they found something, 5 hours after my child was born, around 2 a.m.
The day after, both my mother and I had an interview for trauma processing.
The doula got this through conversations with her own colleagues.
I was left to my own devices all day and evening, laughed at by a nurse, almost got my child in the toilet, almost went into shock, lost 1.2 liters of blood and almost lost my baby, which stormed into labor, core was healthy.
An IV was only applied after birth.
I still can't control my bladder because they cut me open like dirt. But I was talking all about for my baby.
If they had looked at me once, none of this would have happened.
My mom still has nightmares and we all suffered trauma to the day that could have been so beautiful.
