I traveled to Amsterdam many times before visiting the Anne Frank museum. Having read her diaries years ago, I wasn't motivated to experience the profound sadness of her life. I am so glad that our friend wanted to go! Re-experiencing Anne's years during the war was deeply moving, and worth our half hour wait in line.

After visiting once, I will go there again. I now realize that it's really important to remember this horrible part of our history. But next time, I will buy tickets online, well in advance, to avoid waiting.
