My son with autism has made tremendous progress at Laradon. His teachers and staff have worked with him in all areas-speech, OT, behavior as well as academics.
The staff is knowledgeable and thoughtful. They always make time to reach out to me proactively, take time to listen to me, and coordinate with other service providers so that we are all collaborating. They are a dedicated, wonderful team of people who work very hard to make sure my son is meeting his full potential and being as independent as possible. I could go on and on about the staff-but in a nutshell, I consider them an integral part of my son's life and he would not have many of the skills he does today without their unwavering commitment to him.
My son has a limited (but growing!) verbal ability so I must rely on communication with his teachers to know about his day and they do a great job telling me everything that his day entailed. I value that time investment very much. My son is always happy to go to Laradon, and comes home feeling happy as well. His non verbal communication tells me he feels safe and loved, as well as challenged, which we all need.
The campus is beautiful and we really appreciate that the school has specials classes. Not all facilities are able to offer these. Laradon has brought my son many opportunities such as participating in Boy Scouts and Special Olympics.
As a mom, and a person who considers herself an advocate for people with autism I truly do respect and recommend Laradon. And thank them for all they have done and do for my boy.
