Took in my 2014 Touareg for some warranty work and when I went to pick it up I was in shock and disbelieve how dishonest and sleazy the dealership is. The only reason I took my car in to this dealer was because it was the closest to my house. I should have known better than that, after all the reason I didn't buy the car from Larry Miller VW was because the sales person only wanted to sell me a car that was on the lot. When I told him that I wanted to order one, he told me why anyone would want to get that particular color, that it was ugly. I couldn't believe my ears. Is this guy trying to sell me a car or not?
Anyway, when I picked up the car I was informed that it would cost $360 to enable a feature that would have my windows open and close with my key fob, a feature that was standard on the car and was clearly shown in the user manual. The service advisor insisted that it was an option and that I didn't order it on the car. At that point I asked to speak with his service manager. In his office, the service manager asked me if I purchased the car at his dealership. When I told him that I have not, he told me that the other dealer should have enabled that feature since they sold me the car and made a large profit on the car. Finally he left his office and came back couple minutes later with another twist. He told me that he has spoken to one of his people who happened to be a subject matter expert on VW Touregs and concluded that this feature is only available on European models only. At this point, he told me if I want that feature enabled I would have to pay $360 which is 3 hours of labor because his technician has to make a living too. Finally, he said that if I wasn't satisfied, contact Volkswagen of America to complain.
In conclusion, I will never do business with Larry H. Miller Volkswagen. Apparently if you didn't buy a car from their dealer's lot, they will try to rip you off, lie and not honor the warranty.
