Nice, intimate setting but I hated the disabled "platform". It was not explained by the registration team that the carers aren't allowed to sit down due to health and safety reasons. In every venue I've been to the disabled platform is completely separate to anyone else which isn't the case here. This should be made clear. It can take 4 manual wheelchairs. They never asked me the width of mine which is actually extra wide, so a second wheelchair user just managed to squeeze in next to me which wasn't comfortable with my friend standing behind me. It made it nearly impossible to talk to each other during the interval until the crowd disipated. I ended up in lots of pain due to it. I appreciate that you are trying to work with a small venue but I'm sure most wheelchair users who have been to other venues will feel less cared about. I appreciated that the top of the barrier was removed. My friend called up when I read about the carer situation. She was advised that it wouldn't be a problem to give her a chair. We found all the staff very helpful and respectful. We had to ask the supervisor to come out & explain to us & to be honest I felt most of the reasons only made sense if they had 4 wheelchair users in the space but for 1 or 2 it becomes irrelevant. It made me feel so guilty & means that instead of getting 5 stars because I loved being able to see Charles Esten and the Adelaides so easily, I have to reduce the review. I advised that all this should be made clear BEFORE any wheelchair user buys a ticket not afterwards. I want my carer to be looked after too seeing as they're ensuring that I can attend the concert in the first place. I would have coped better knowing this information in advance.
