As my 2 yr wedding anniversary is approaching this...

As my 2 yr wedding anniversary is approaching this month, I figured enough time has passed now that I can give my honest review without letting my emotions get the best of me. We chose this venue because it was beautiful, great location and we had heard good things about it. Everything was great, until we signed our contract. Once we had signed it felt like we had just become a number. Michelle was our wedding coordinator and she is a sweet person, but it seemed like she had too much on her plate. Communication became difficult- emails had slipped through the cracks and she either didn't respond or it would take a week to respond. I started to feel uneasy, but not much we could do because of the contract. Fast forward to rehearsal night- we checked in and met with Michelle were she took us to the ballroom that we would be getting married in. Once she led us there, she left shortly afterwards and said she would stop back by or we could call her if we had any questions. We did have some questions/concerns so we tried to contact her and that was unsuccessful. Wedding day comes- still unable to get ahold of Michelle and couldn't find her for good part of the day. Thankfully I have a great mother and friends/family that were helping with setting things up for the wedding and reception. Finally, some things were handled. It's now time for the reception and as my bridal party, my husband and I were waiting outside the ballroom so we can be announced my father comes out to tell me that some of my guests are standing up with no table to be seated at. Prior to the wedding I was given the paperwork with the breakdown of how many tables and how many seats at each table would be for the reception. Based on this information I created the seating chart. For some reason it wasn't noticed while the staff was setting everything up and caused this confusion. They ended up having 1 table less than originally stated and just adding an additional seat to each table. Completely messed up my seating arrangements. Finally that got resolved. Enjoyed our time at the reception until it was time to leave. We had called for someone to come assist us with moving the wedding presents from the reception room to the honeymoon suite we were to be staying at. The baggage handler came and started stacking the presents not being careful and dropped a package that shattered. Not even really caring he was like oops and continued loading things up. We spent the next few hours dealing with hotel security and management who wanted us to all get together and open the shattered package to document on the report the damage and worth. Problem was- it was shattered and we had no idea what it was. It put us in such a bad mood that we ended up leaving the hotel and not even staying in the honeymoon suite. We were never reimbursed for not staying in the suite nor were we offered to stay another time. Any future brides- please be careful when selecting this venue. These events plus others that weren't mentioned, put way more stress on our big day than there should have been.
