If you re looking for a job here, I suggest you keep looking. The residents are sweet and honestly a great part of the day, as well as the visitors not all of them but most of them. Working here they just take advantage of you. The nurses are straight up mean for no reason. The front acts like they care but truly do not. They use people and when it s not convenient for them anymore they let you go after working you so hard. Second week working there I was ask to come in from 8-7 after already changing my original time twice before, I agreed and after weeks of coming in early and leaving late I was burning out so I stopped, literally a week after I stopped, I was at the hospital with proof and everything, I came in my next shift and got FIRED. While knowing I was in the hospital. Honestly I am a lot happier now and realized I don t want to be working in that kind of environment, a lot of good people work there though that I personally like so much and made me like coming in to work even if it was just seconds of seeing them.
When it comes down to the residents it s awful to work there and see everyday what they deal with. Hearing the residents scream for help and seeing how they get ignored is truly heartbreaking. They don t deserve that at all, I enjoyed helping them the most I could and hearing them tell me they felt better since I had started working there was truly amazing. But seeing the way they were being cared for is devastating, having them call the front for help with BASIC needs trying to get help for hours and just being ignored is not what should be happening. If doing your job is so hard and you can t take care of the residents DONT be a NURSE OR A CNA. These people count on people there but get disappointed. I don t think anyone who is looking for a nursing home should chose North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty. Take your loved ones somewhere they will actually be cared for by people who CARE.
