I've dealt with Trend financial twice. Unfortunately after my first dealing with them I had absolutely no desire to deal with them a second time however circumstances made it my only possibility to get a vehicle fast. My first time around as a first time buyer I was locked into a interest rate of 18 percent.. if I had made every payment I was told that I was able to have it dropped 6 percent after 18 months. Trend tried to avoid this because I had a misunderstanding in terms of my insurance, but had long fixed the issue but because they received a counselation letter the said they were not obligated to give me a 6% drop in interest like promised. Took me a week and speaking to almost every agent to get this resolved.this happened in 2013. My second vehicle with them they gave me an interest rate too 11% which is still really high for someone who was a previous customer and obtained perfect payments always on time never missed one nor had the intentions too. This time there was no promise to reduce the interest rate (as they knew I was capable of making every single payment.) My contract was even longer then my first one. They called me on stuff that was unrelated to my file, counselation of insurance (never happened) wanted me to pay a fee because conveniently my deductible was unacceptable according to their policy after already being so for about 12 months. I had to either change it or pay a 300+ dollar fee.. I had a situation where I needed a bigger vehicle and I was almost going to get a third finance loan for a bigger vehicle they then offered a 13% interest rate at a 36 month contract even more then what I was currently paying keep in mind I had made every payment at this time, had two contracts in perfect standing. Lastly when it came to my buy out and to do ownership change over I had asked for a one day switch over inwhich I was asked to be in Toronto an hour distance from my location for 10 am and they would be heading off to MTO around 12pm and I would be out of there by 2pm well let me tell you that was so far from the truth. They didn't leave until 2:30pm and weren't back until after 4:30. Trend has since been in contact with me and has cleared up some of their organization issues, they seem to be on the right path to running a successful business. I sincerely hope they do so that their future and current customers do not have similar issues that I have faced. I thank trend for the reimbursement in gas as well as for my time wasted and the safety that I had. I was very thankful for the kindness after posting such review and doing their best to fix things. I can't say I would, or wouldn't consider trend in the future as I'm currently saving to purchase my next vehicle in cash, but I will say because of their effort and genuine manner in wanting to repairs things if ever I was in a position where I needed a financial loan to purchase a vehicle I would consider trend. They definitely restored our business relationship. I think with the right tools and organization trend could be a great company.
