If I could give 0 stars; I would. If Vanderbilt is...

If I could give 0 stars; I would. If Vanderbilt is considered one of the best hospitals, then I don't want to see the worst.

I went in because I had been having some groin pain. Doing a little research, sounded like a hernia. Pain radiates from the right side of my groin to my right testicle (sorry for the details, just stating so you could imagine the type of pain I have). I'm new to the area, so, I don't have a PCP or anything. They do a half-assed physical exam, and an ultrasound on my right testicle. Don't find anything, so they diagnosed me with "testicular pain". They said If i had anymore pain, to come back. But find a doctor in the mean time.

I find a doctor. He says, I need to see a specialist. Fine, next one is booked out like 3 weeks. Awesome. So, in the 3 weeks waiting for the specialist, the pain progressively gets worse, and I go back. Just like they told me to do if the pain gets worse. They check me in, another half-assed physical, and another ultrasound on my testicle. I told them, "the pain radiates around my entire groin. It just hurts in my testicle. I don't think my testicle is the cause of my pain. I think it could be an inguinal hernia. Is there another test we can do?" "An ultrasound wouldn't really find a hernia if that was the case. The only test we can do would be too risky with the radiation. Go see a doctor."

I ended up having to cancel my specialist appointment because of family issues, and I had to go out of town. I make another appointment with the specialist. 2 more weeks. Again, the pain gets too unbearable and is starting to really freak me out. I go back. Me trying to give them the benefit of the doubt like, "Hey, this guy has been in 3 times now... maybe this is something a little more serious than we think." I get in, they took blood, which they never did the other 2 times, and then I waited for 7 hours. If sitting there for 7 hours wasn't bad enough, they left the IV in my arm the entire time. They bring me back, quick exam, and boom. Can't find anything, "Go see a doctor". WHAT THE @#$& ARE YOU?! A guy, DRESSED LIKE A DOCTOR?!

The right side of my groin is swollen. It hurts to laugh and cough, can't sit for too long without pain, sometimes my testicle will get pulled up into my body, irregular bowel movements, and urinating shouldn't be this hard. I'm 26... I've got a while until that sort of problem arises. I'm not a doctor, but if something hurts, swells, and effects everyday living; something isn't right.
